Suboccipital headaches are headaches that occur at the base of the skull and back of the head. They can feel like sharp or shooting pain in the scalp.
Causes
1. Muscle tension

Compression of the occipital nerves can occur due to arthritis, tumors, or disc degeneration in the neck
